Piteau Associates is going through an exciting phase of growth with the addition of more than 50 employees in our Geotechnical and Water Management groups in the last few years. To keep up with this growth, we are expanding our geotechnical group capabilities with highly respected industry leaders in our operations.
Skills and Responsibilities
Piteau is seeking hydrogeologists of all levels of experience to take on challenging roles in its operations in Peru. We offer the opportunity to work with leading industry professionals and exposure to a wide range of projects, including:
Depressurization design of pit slopes and pit drainage for mines in operation and planned.
Hydrogeological studies to evaluate environmental impacts and possible mitigation measures in support of environmental management tools (EIA, MEIA, ITS, PIA, among others) for mines in operation and planned.
Hydrogeological assessments in support of water supply permitting, and drainage and recovery programs.
Development and monitoring of groundwater control programs to ensure compliance with current regulations.
Design, supervision and installation of piezometers and wells; as well as planning, supervision and interpretation of hydraulic tests.
Design of drainage in specific sectors for the development of civil and industrial infrastructures.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with all or some of the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's degree in geological engineering, geology or a field related to hydrogeology courses and/or research (required for all positions).
Postgraduate studies: Master in Hydrogeology (desirable).
English Intermediate level (desirable).
A minimum of 3 years of experience working full time as a hydrogeologist in consulting dedicated to mining projects.
Strong knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, hydrology and hydrochemistry.
Demonstrated experience in the development of hydrogeological models (conceptual and numerical).
Software Management: ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, Leapfrog, Feflow, Modflow (Groundwater Views and/or Visual Modflow) and programming languages (Python, R or Matlab).
Ability to work independently, providing practical solutions, consulting with senior staff to review work and ensure technical excellence.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organization and planning.
Enthusiasm for learning and taking on challenging tasks."
